This tree topper works well and is so nice lit up BUT it is so heavy with a terribly inadequate attachment to place it on the tree. No matter how we rigged it, I even tried wrapping extra chop sticks around it with athletic tape for more stability, it was so heavy it would fall right off. We have two trees and it didn't work on either. So now I just have a $25 star that I put in a vase on the mantle because my kids like it. Oh and when I bought it it said it had a white wire (we have a white tree) but when it came the wire was green.

I am very pleased with this star. Others have said it is poorly contructed, but mine was perfect. Yes - there are hinges on the star that allow it to be opened for replacing lights, but they are not very noticable once installed and lit. I have already changed out the white lights for blue, and love the effect. Now I am not stuck with one color tree topper every year. Very convienient.

The star looks a little different than expected but it still looks really nice. HOWEVER, the star is pretty heavy. It isnt heavy enough to make the tree fall to the side but still heavy enough for the top branch to handle, which makes the branch tilt to the side along with the star. In the end, the tree stayed in its place but the start was tilted down because its weight on the branch.
Therefore, the star gets a 3 because it looks nice but I can't use it.
Note: My tree is an artificial christmas tree. However, unless the top branch is pretty thick, the star will still drag it down.

I'll start with the fact that I didn't purchase this item from Amazon, but instead at a local Christmas Shop. It is really pretty and just what we wanted for our tree. They had one on display, so we knew what to expect. Got it home, put it on the tree, plugged it in....just beautiful!! 5min later it went out.... :( This product is poorly made, from cheap parts. Unfortunately, we are stuck with it. The store only does exchanges. Hoping for better luck after the exchange. Be aware! If you plan to buy this item, make sure the return policy is good.
